George Washington took a tour of Long Island in April,1790. 
He was President almost a year at the time.
He stayed many places on Long Island.  One of them was the Youngs' Homestead in Oyster Bay Cove.  It was a beautiful grey house on the water,
built by Thomas Youngs' about 1660.
On the homestead there were sheep and apple orchards, and magestic trees.   The President rested at the Youngs' home on Friday.
He left early Saturday morning, but not before giving Keziah a kiss on the cheek.  She was eighteen and held the kiss sacred by never letting another kiss the same spot again!
